HOLY SCRIPTURES
The Standard Works used for the Words of Jesus Christ are the four foundational books of holy scripture accepted as the word of God by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They are:
- Holy Bible (Old and New Testaments): The King James Version in English
- The Book of Mormon: A record of ancient peoples in the Americas, subtitled “Another Testament of Jesus Christ“
- Doctrine and Covenants: A collection of modern revelations received by the prophet Joseph Smith and several successors
- Pearl of Great Price: Contains writings of Moses and Abraham, Joseph Smith’s history, selected scriptures, and the Articles of Faith
These volumes form the core of Latter-day Saint scripture, and are used alongside modern prophetic teachings to guide faith and doctrine.
The Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price are often bound together in print, commonly referred to as the Triple Combination.
Together, all four volumes of holy scripture contain more than 11,500 verses that include the words of Jesus Christ.

The complete online version of these scriptures can be read and searched here, where you can also learn more about the history, background, and value of the scriptures.
